This summer, Tony Lewis has several tour dates in the Midwest and on the West Coast, bringing fans a concert experience complete with all the fun of the old favorites of The Outfield as well as the great new music from Tony’s recent foray into a solo career. With dates set through August and September, fans get a chance to see Tony perform at festivals, fairs, and other cool venues from Seattle to Tulsa to Huntington Beach.

When Tony kicks off this leg of the tour in Spokane, Washington on August 24 opening for Sammy Hagar, he’ll bring that excitement to fans that never got a chance to see The Outfield in concert. “It felt a bit different to start off and a bit strange without John because we played together for 40 years (on and off). I’m enjoying it more these days and I love to work the crowd,” Tony says. “The traveling is quite exciting, seeing different places every day. The best bit is the performance, you cannot beat that feeling.”

This new round of tour dates follows a successful run earlier this year in Mexico, where Tony and his band played to large crowds full of loyal fans. A Mexico City date is already scheduled for late September. “Our first two albums Play Deep and Bangin’ were very popular in Mexico,” Tony tells Madison Records. “In 1987 a lot of bands were reluctant to go there and rumors were going around of crime and bands not getting paid etc. Of course, it’s nothing like that now and I love the country. The Outfield was one of the only bands that went there and did a lot of promotion in Mexico City. “Your Love” and “All the Love in the World” were well received there and the South American territories are strong for our music. The Mexican audience are a “rock n roll” audience and very loyal so we never miss an opportunity to play there!!”

Tony’s summer tour culminates in Huntington Beach, California, at Sammy Hagar’s High Tide Beach Party. The 2-day festival brings together a variety of big names in music from the 80s and beyond, including KC & The Sunshine Band, Vince Neil of Motley Cruë, Night Ranger and Blue Öyster Cult. “I’m looking forward to meeting Sammy Hagar who is a legend. I remember him from “Montrose” and I liked the track “Bad Motor Scooter.”

“I am also very excited to be meeting Jason Bonham who is a great drummer, just like his dad!!”
